15" MBP mid-2015. Damaged trackpad board
While replacing the battery I've damaged trackpad ribbon ZIF connector on the trackpad board. My questions are as follows,..
1 Should this stop the keyboard from working?
The trackpad and the device keyboard both have stopped working. I have checked keyboard ribbon connection a few times and it appears to be fine, no force was used connecting it and it is definitely connected.
2 The new battery was working fine on first power up..
It powered up without using keyboard power button when I connected the MagSafe and opened the lid/screen which I didn't expect on this model, and was indicating 65%, but after say 5mins the computer just stopped.
Now, because the keyboard doesn't work, it sort of only starts to power up sometimes, and only when I connect the MagSafe mains or in some instances when I disconnect mains power. It only starts a progress bar for approximately 5 seconds and the screen goes black and that's it nothing else unless I disconnect and/or reconnect MagSafe and maybe the same thing happens again or nothing happens.
The real Question
If I replace the trackpad can I expect the device keyboard to work again?
If the keyboard and trackpad work again can I expect it to start up normally?
I understand resetting SMC should likely solve powering up issues, or do any of you think there might be other issues based on info I've given?
Thanks in advance.
