How can I free up space from 'System Data' on iPad Pro?

Apple, FIX THE SYSTEM DATA STORAGE! You’ve heard from all of us users for years. This is ridiculous that 90gb can be stolen from this “system data” and NEVER ACTUALLY DELETES, but only grows! Constantly wiping the device and restoring from icloud is absurd. We need actual solutions to go in and delete this data. If it’s truly a catch all (siri voice, caches, logs etc) then there should be a way to organize it so it can be accessed and files deleted.

This issues has eaten up not only storage, but countless hours of frustrating headaches just to get simple tasks done.

Fix it.

This is a user to user community forum. We are just other Apple users, like you. We cannot make any changes to Apple systems. And Apple does not read these posts. It does no good to order us to "fix it."

While you cannot change the space the system data needs, there are other things you can do to optimize storage space. You can do this and possibly free up space, by deleting apps, deleting old photos you no longer need, old emails & messages. You can read more about it here: How to check the storage on your iPhone and iPad - Apple Support
