Airpods noise cancellation not very effective

When I first used my airpods, the noise cancellation seemed very effective, but now I can hear the TV in the background in both ears. In the settings, I have noise cancellation selected for both airpods and the earbud seal test was fine too. Does anyone else have this problem?

Hi Mumbo!

I used to have the same issue with you, the main culprit would be dirt or earwax building up.

Dirt and dust can block the microphones used for the noise cancelation.

Use a soft, dry cloth and a toothpick or brush to gently clean the microphone and speaker grilles.

Do not use any water.

I hope this helped you!

Hi Princeton and thanks for a speedy response. No wax build-up, very clean. I can't seem to identify where the microphone and speaker grilles are on the airpods, there's just a couple of plastic looking "windows" on the top of each one and a black strip on the backs. These are AirPods Pro model A3047.
