How to connect miniDV camcorder to MacBook Pro (Thunderbolt

Hi,

On my 2023 MacBook Pro 14" with OS Sonoma (14.5) I have iMovie. I cannot use it because I cannot connect my old Sony camcorder to my laptop because Apple changed from Thunderbolt2 to Thunderbolt4.

I am looking for a cable to connect DV in/out (camcorder) to my MacBook Pro with only Thunderbolt4 connections.

Any solution for this so that I can import my miniDV into iMovie?

Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C) to Thunderbolt 2 Adapter - Apple

Thunderbolt 3 and 4 are backward compatible with this adapter. I use this adapter along with a Thunderbolt 2 to Firewire adapter to plug in my older Firewire drives.

Thanks for the info.

So first from DV (camcorder) to Thunderbolt2 and then again from Thunderbolt 2 to 4.

I hope it works. I will order this adaptor.
