I unlock a folder close it reopen it and it is re-locked.

I am attempting to save a image sequence from QuickTime and each time it says I do not have permission for the folder, I go into the folder unlock the lock in the bottom right corner, press the drop-down to apply to all in the folder and press OK.

I reopened the folder and the lock is locked again, why?

It’s posted today so new.

Any folder on my desktop that has any media files in it has the lock in the bottom right corner.

I’m new to the macbook so I’m not sure if that lock in the bottom right corner is the one locking the permissions, there is a spot just up from it that has the word locked but does not have that box checked, still learning.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.

I have a folder open right now on my desktop called edited Lightroom photos.

I write clicked on the folder and chose get info.

In the bottom right corner of the lock is locked, so I unlocked it and then to the left I opened the drop down menu and chose apply to enclose items, I pressed OK when it asked am I sure and then I closed the folder.

I chose get info on that folder again and in the bottom right corner the lock is locked again, this is what I’m trying to fix.
