How to fix Mac not connecting to iPhone hotspot after software update?

i recently updated the software on my Mac and iPhone now I can no longer connect my Mac to my hotspot. I have tried all the suggestions I could find online and it has made no difference. Both devices software is up to date. I don’t know what else to try, any help would be appreciated.
