How do I remove the 'Homerun' word from my Mac menu bar?

The word "Homerun" recently appeared on my Mac menu bar. What is it, how did it appear, and how do I get rid of it?

That's an important piece of information. It seems Homerun is the User Name under which you are logged in.

You can confirm that information by viewing the list of users for that Mac. Refer to these instructions: Change Users & Groups settings on Mac - Apple Support, and View the list of users. If that information doesn't seem right to you, by all means write back and ask for clarification.

You can change your User Name if you so choose but please do not do that without asking for help first. Apple provides these instructions: Change the name of your macOS user account and home folder - Apple Support. You can really mess things up if it's done improperly.

Definitely contact AppleCare if you remain concerned.

I believe there is a third party app and/or hardware device called HomeRun. Follow the HomeRun developer's instructions to properly uninstall the app. Check to see if that menu item has an "uninstall" option. If you launch the HomeRun app, then perhaps there is an "Uninstall" option within one of the app's menus or within its configuration settings/preferences.

Thank you for your reply. Homerun is not an app. When I select Homerun on the menu bar I get two options. Login window and Users and Group Settings. I have restarted my computer several times including I have tried opening in the Safe mode. I can't get it to open in the Safe mode. I have also tried to reinstall my OS, Sequoia. I can get through several steps until I have to select the administrator. Homerun appears as the only name as a user who is the administrator. I am going to call Apple Care shortly. I will try to update my reply to you after that.
