I installed the 15.4 update. After my Mac restarted the color I had for the desktop went away. Now my desktop background is white. I can go to wallpaper and select pre-created colors. When I click on the button with a plus sign in colors the control panel pops up a color select dialog. I can create a color I like but I can't make it the desk top color. How can I do this?

Looks like this is fixed in 15.4.1, which came out today.
I was using one of the listed colors, and when I installed the update it reverted to a landscape wallpaper (I think Sequoia Sunrise). I went into system settings and was able to replace with a custom color.
Well, a month later from original update and no apology from Apple, but eventually we are up to date. So that is good news!

FWIW, the notifications are running far behind when they were posted. So if you have unsubscribed from the thread they should stop once they are caught up.
