It was the mail app for me running in the background consistently even with background app refresh off. It was showing an hour by hour usage in the background ( thats a full hour of working in the background and minutes on the screen ) when it should be minutes in the background. The only fix I’ve found after a fresh install of iOS ( this didn’t work ) was to delete the mail app and use a different mail app and this is now working correctly with minutes in the background. This isn’t because of it’s “an update so the iPhone will be configuring in the background and power and thermal performance might be affected” this was something else. Oh and my iPad doesn’t have any issue at all.

The hardware on the iPhone 7 does not support any iOS version greater than iOS 15.8.4. If you want to be able to use more recent iOS software, you will need to get a newer device.
Software has always outpaced hardware ever since the first computer and that is going to continue well into the future.
Two years ago when I was having issues after an update on my iPhone, where it started just randomly capitalizing didn’t understand the context of a sentence when it did before I updated my iPad about a month later, and it did the exact same thing. I took both devices to Apple. They got to see what was happening and said oh my gosh this shouldn’t be happening. We’re gonna wipe both these phones and they downloaded apparently new software. I have had nothing but issues with every single update not one of them fixes any bugs. It just brings new bugs so there’s no point in taking it to Apple. They don’t take responsibility.

Hello~ I …on the other hand have not had any “bugs” whatsoever that haven’t been resolved. My experiences in dealing with Apple have all been positive and resulted in my complete satisfaction. The one and only time that I have had a hardware issue …my device was replaced.

I have discovered the same issue.
Mine also and my ipad does the same
I need to charge twice a day
This has been happening to me since 5 days after the 18.4 update
It’s happening to me too. After charging to 100% and listening to music for an hour, nothing else, just music playing, my phone is drained to 60% and continues to rapidly drop. Very frustrating.
Yes
Did that after you replied to my comment. Same battery drain slope for last 2 hours. No change whatsoever.

iPhone 15 Pro Max, no issues with battery until recent 18.4.1 update. Ever since (it’s been a few days already) I have to charge at least twice a day.
hope this gets fixed!

Same here after the update. 2 charge cycles daily
Same which phone you use?
