Updated to Sequoia 15.4 MacBook Pro (2023). Email accounts receive emails. Send arrow is ether shaded out or shades to grey when clicked to send. At present can not send any emails using any of my gmail accounts

Thanks for figuring this out. The same solution worked for me. Here are the steps I took in case it helps clarify for anyone else:
1. Change the settings to Mail->Settings...->Composing->Check Spelling->Never
2. Send a test email to confirm it sends.
3. Change setting from Never back to When I Click Send.
4. Send a test email with a spelling error to confirm it checks & sends.

Hi. I disabled spellcheck and the emails worked. The spellcheck also worked even though it was disabled. I tried a few emails. Then tried with the spellcheck turned back on. It worked! So I am now sending emails with spellcheck back on and everything appears to be working.
It will forever be a mystery of life!!
Hi. I had noticed that spellcheck seemed to be the common denominator. I followed the advice in this post and unchecked all elements of the spellcheck and it worked. Even more. with the spellcheck unchecked the email still checked the spelling before it went and allowed editing.

Same here. I have disable the spellchecker and it works.
I'm pretty sure the problem only started after the 15.4 update.
In case it helps anyone helping: The Mail Connection Doctor window shows the IMAP & SMTP "Connection and login to server succeeded" for my FastMail account. I have checked that I can save a Draft in Apple Mail, open the FastMail Mac app, and send it from there.
Same issue and I cannot see option Mail>settings>composing to edit any spell check settings. they are not there. And if I try and change spell check setting via Edit>Spelling and grammar> check spelling. all options are greyed out.
Same problem, M2 MacBook Air. I am using FastMail, not Gmail.
Did your issue start when you updated to Sequois 15.4?
