Bought macbook on monday and made a password but now it’s locked i can’t access it

New, and i didn’t link it to my apple id account i clicked setup later but i done a password and now i can’t remember what i done, surely not just a way to reset the laptop ? Aint no other option tho just says password with a box

When you set it up, did you set it up to allow you to change the password using your Apple account?
