Samsung Portable SSD T7 Shield 2 TB USB is not showing in SamsungPortable SSD App on MacBook Pro M4

I have an old Samsung Portable SSD T5 500MB with Password Protection activated. When I connect it to my MacBook Pro M4 the read only volume of the T5 is showing in Finder. So I can install the SamsungPortable SSD App from the read only volume of the T5. But after installation and reboot, the T5 SSD was not recognised by the SamsungPortable SSD App so I was not able to unlock the drive with the password. With my Windows Notebook the T5 works just fine.

I changed USB Cables and installed the latest SamsungPortable SSD App from Samsung website but nothing worked.

So I thought that the T5 is just to old and bought a new Samsung Portable SSD T7 Shield 2 TB USB.

But guess what: Same Story.

Has anybody experiance with the Samsung Portable SSD T5/T7 working on Mac with Silicon M1/M2/M3/M4 Processors?

Usually 3rd party disk utilities should be avoided. So I'd uninstall Samsung software. Disk Utility.app is all you need for that.

So copy any useful files on the drive elsewhere, and format it as APFS (unless the disk is already APFS case insensitive):

/Applications/Utilities/Disk Utility.app > View > Show All Devices [Command-2] > [select the topmost Device that usually has the Manufacturer's name like "SanDisk Ultra USB 3.0 Media", NOT any Containers or Volumes listed under it] > Edit > Erase... [Shift-Command-E] > Name : [type the desired name for the new volume], Scheme: GUID Partition Map, THEN you can select Format: APFS > Erase.
