Would latest iOS cause old iPhone run at higher FPS than it can handle?

I am playing Warcraft rumble on my iPhone 13. It is a game that does not run under game mode for some reason. And the iPhone heats up very quickly. The battery health is at 78%, but I think it is the app that drains the battery due to its gpu usage. Other games or apps does not drain battery like this one at all… The rumble game does not have a graphics setting currently.

No, an iOS update cannot make the phone frame rate higher than it was designed to display
Your battery health is degraded and the battery needs to be replaced by Apple and is at least one reason the phone heats up more playing a graphic intensive game. Apple says once battery health dips to 80% or less it's time for a battery replacement. Continuing to push a degraded battery can lead to bigger issues.

Apple recommends replacing the battery once it drops below 80%. Lithium Ion batteries perform erratically as they near End of Life (EOL). The rapid discharge produces more heat and the lack of customization for the game is your issue. If the graphics quality and other settings can’t be reduced, your processor is working extra hard to display the game.

First step is to replace the battery.
