How do I effectively use an AirTag for car theft tracking without alerting the thief?

What's the use of an Airtag to track my car in case it is robbed if the thief gets notified there is one hidden in the car ? So, how can use an Airtag for the purpose of tracking my car in case it is robbed ?

you can't really, they don't mean for the airtag to be aimed in that way because, there is no way to differ that situation from the situation of users using the device to stalk other people. they advitise it to be used to find lost luggage and not to find thieves or to track lost pets.
