AirPods 4 touch functions not working

Just purchased some Air Pod 4’s after putting it off for years as just hate the style, but wanted the convenience of them pairing automatically & the compact size of the charging case etc.

The issue I’m encountering though is I’m unable to use any of the touch functions ie tap to mute, take calls etc, tapping the stems or anywhere on the Air Pods does nothing which is a bit of a pain, am I doing something wrong or are mine faulty?

Thanks for the reply I’ve now worked it out, unlike the previous generations that relied on tap gestures the AirPods4 you have to squeeze on the stems to get the functions, found out through trial & error, thought it was stupid to start with but it’s actually ok once you get used to it.

The only issue I’m having now is being unable to select ‘Conversation awareness’ all I have on the volume control is fixed Spatial Audio
