Can I pick up an iPhone 16 Pro Max with a veterans discount from an Apple Store?

So as an attempt to order a new iPhone 16 promax utilizing id me sign in I am trying to pickup at local Apple Store. Product is available and allows me to schedule a time and put in my pertinent information for pickup. When I press the purchase button it comes back with “delivery option no longer available please select different option “ it looks like at that point where it only wants me to deliver to my home? Did they change this program to only ship to home? And how is this safer than a pickup and verification in store?

So as a follow up I finally got my phone on order after trying every option that online store gave me utilizing id.me sign on for Veterans, the only option that worked was free shipping it to home. I even tried doing the $9 courier delivery and with that it made it look like my credit card or Apple Pay failed. At the conclusion nothing abnormal about the purchase method it just wanted me to use delivery to home even though phone was in stock at local Apple Store. I never had the chance to go directly in the store and speak with manager, but it sounds as if to get veterans discount it must be done online only as per phone calls I made to sales?

How far are you from an Apple Store? You can always call and request a supervisor. An experienced supervisor will know the drill. If the delay is an issue, call the store, request to speak to a manager, explain the situation and see what the manager is willing/capable of doing. Managers generally have wide discretionary powers, but times change. You may have to settle for shipping. Please post back and share your experience in getting an iPhone. This shouldn’t be brain surgery.

Apple offers military discounts, including veterans, for iPhone purchases, and you can likely pick up an iPhone 16 Pro Max with such a discount from an Apple Store, though you'll need to verify the specific details and eligibility requirements with Apple.

Here's a breakdown of what to expect:

  • Military Discount:
  • Apple offers a special discount for military members, veterans, and first responders.
  • Eligibility:
  • You'll need to verify your eligibility by providing proof of your military status or veteran status.
  • Check Apple's Website:
  • The most accurate information and details about the discount program, including eligibility requirements and available products, can be found on Apple's official website.
  • In-Store or Online:
  • You can likely purchase the iPhone 16 Pro Max with a discount either in-store at an Apple Store or online through Apple's website.
  • Trade-in offers
  • Military members, first responders and folks over 55 can take advantage of special trade-in offers for up to $800 off.

I’ve called and one said yes other said probably just delivery to home only. Frustrating because I ordered my last three iPhones with out any issues using veterans discount Id.me verification on apple.com. Maybe their policy changed at beginning of Year? I know last time I was in the store they wouldn’t give me a discount unless I ordered it via Id.me

I don’t know, but will try to find out. I’m a former Apple Store manager and we used to be able to offer the discount directly within the store. I’d be surprised if that process has been removed, but it’s hard for me to say. I’ll post what I learn in a day or two.

I’m glad to hear you were able to order your iPhone and get your discount. That’s the most important part.
