Brand new 2025 Apple Watch SE battery dies after 8 hours

I bought a watch for my daughter, it is 1 month old. She puts it on at 8am, wears it to school on school mode (9-330) and the battery dies is dead by 6:30pm. Sent in for repair, no repairs found and it’s being sent back and I’m told if the problem still exists I’ll have to purchase Apple care to have it replaced. Anyone have experience ice with this? The watch was sold to us faulty and Apple won’t replace it?

If the watch is only 1 month old, the battery health should still be at 100%.

Did you check the battery usage graph in Settings/Battery on the watch? Can you see when the watch uses most of the battery life, or is the battery draining in one straight line?

Unpairing it and setting it up again as a new device can help, in case this is software related.
