Unable to crop photos while editing on my iPhone 16 Pro Max with iOS 18

When I try to crop a photo in the editing function, it does not work. How do you crop a photo while editing it?

Define "does not work".

What exactly happens when you try to crop a photo then?

You tap on the Photo, then tap on the adjustments icon at the bottom then on crop and then drag the sides of the adjustment border to crop the photo. Tap on done when you're finished cropping.

What is your iOS? is it 18.3, 18.4 ?

I choose "crop" from the edit menu, and then I choose the icon at the top that shows different sizes (if you use your imagination,

and I pick either FREEFORM or a preset aspect ratio. Then I grab the corners and drag them in. If you don't choose that top sizes icon, then cropping should be in freeform.

Is this what you've done? What happens, and at what point?
