Touch ID not working on my MacBook Air

So, out of nowhere, my fingerprint Touch ID stopped working. I have made sure it was clean and the like, I've deleted my fingerprints and restarted the laptop and did everything it said about resetting certain things in order to restore this. However, when I go to click to add a fingerprint, it automatically says failed no matter what. It says it right from the start. It won't let me re-add them because it sees it as an auto fail. I'm not sure what else to do. Any help would be appreciated.

Troubleshooting Fingerprint:

Go here: Start Up your Mac in Safe Mode - Apple Support. Try booting your Mac in Safe Mode, to if that gets you to perform this. The method of doing so is different, depending on your processor. Go here: Start Up your Mac in Safe Mode - Apple Support
