Why does the iPhone 16 Pro crop video in wide-angle?

When I use the Photo mode, I can access the wider field of view (around 0.8x). But as soon as I switch to Video mode, the image zooms in and the wide-angle effect disappears — almost like a software crop.

This wasn’t the case on iPhone 14 Pro or 15 Pro — I could record video in wide-angle mode using the front camera.

Could you please confirm if this is an intended behavior of the iPhone 16 Pro or a bug that may be fixed in future updates?

Thank you!
