How to restore Mac Calendar from BLACK BACKGROUND?

Calendar appeared OK earlier in the day; but when opened this evening it's BLACK with WHITE print. I haven't found a fix yet. Is this fixable?

MAC Calendar locked When I open Calendar it says “Updating Calendars”. Once it opens(minutes), it is locked on present month and when I scroll, it moves to a blank page. OS is 11.7.4, 27” iMac, with 48 GB of RAM. Hard drive has 603 GB available. This has been going on for some time.. Suggestions?

Might you be using Night Shift?

Use Night Shift on your Mac - Apple Support

Or Dark Mode?

Use a light or dark appearance on your Mac - Apple Support
