How do I move a folder from MacBook Pro to iPad Pro without any changes?

I have a current Macbook Pro and Ipad Pro (lucky me)... both running the latest operating systems. All I want to do is move a folder from my Macbook Pro to my Ipad Pro. In order to do this it appears I need an application on the Ipad... I cannot merely drag and drop the folder onto Ipad??.... Here is an example. Create a folder on your Macbook Pro...Label that folder "MyKickAssDog" Put in a .jpg and a .txt file of your kickarsedog..... now also create another folder within that folder with whatever.... Now try to putting the MyKickAssDog folder on an Ipad!!!

The only way I have found to do this is using an app like "documents" where you see the files, but you lose the folder structure... and then you need pay for an app..... grrr!!!

I just want to see a folder exactly the same on both devices??!!!

Thanks in advance!!!

The easiest way is with AirDrop and no additional apps are needed.

  • Control-Click the folder on your Mac and choose Share
  • Choose AirDrop
  • Select your iPad. The iPad will have to be unlocked in order to view it on the AirDrop screen.
  • You will then get a Notification on your iPad where you want to save it in your Files app and after you choose the location, tap Save.

That same folder is now available on your iPad in the Files app. You will also see the nested folder inside of that one.
