Buy IPhone in Japan as a dutchie. Can it be negative?

I want to buy a new IPhone 16 in Japan as a Dutch person. Are there negative consequences?

Also keep in mind that an iPhone sold in Japan

  • Might have a warranty that is only valid in Japan
  • Might have cellular coverage that is somewhat different than that of phones meant for Western Europe
  • Might have Wi-Fi coverage that is somewhat different than that of phones meant for Western Europe


There's also this:

"Japan and South Korea are among the only countries in the world to regulate camera shutter noises on mobile phones."

which led me to do a quick search that uncovered this:

If you're planning to take photos in some place where noise is not appreciated – like a classical music hall, or a library – you might not appreciate this Japanese phone "extra".

This is no longer the case, except for Rakuten Mobile; the availability of unlocking and other carrier services is listed in this article and similar ones.


Note that getting warranty or AppleCare+ service for it outside of Japan is at the discretion of the people at the service center. They likely won't have international iPhone models on hand for replacements, and therefore aren't obligated to honor warranties or AppleCare plans from outside their own country(except when both are in the European Economic Area or Switzerland).
