Screen lagging issue on iPhone 14 Plus after iOS 18.4 update

Since I did my iOS 18.4 update I’ve started having really big issues with my refresh rate on my phone. Scrolling is nearly impossible and it’s gotten to where most of the time typing is a nuisance because I’m lagging so much. I have plenty of storage so that isn’t an issue. Everything is up to date. I bought this phone in March 2023. I feel like I shouldn’t be experiencing this issue with a phone that’s barely 2 years old. I’ve restarted it multiple times and still is the same.

Go to Settings > Battery > Battery Health. What does the percentage show? If the percentage is 80% or below, which hits there under average decline around 2 years, you are due for a battery replacement. A significantly degraded battery can show lag and performance issues as the battery can struggle to deliver adequate power.

If your battery health is above 80%, please perform a Forced Restart. That is to fix any software related issues which can be causing this lag and performance issues.

  • Press and quickly release the Volume Up Button.
  • Press and quickly release the Volume Down Button.
  • Press and hold the Side Button until you see the Apple Logo.
