Could not mount “disk6s1”. (com.apple.DiskManagement.disenter error -119930868.)

I wanted to format my new external hard drive, once I command erase, I receive such message "Could not mount “disk6s1”. (com.apple.DiskManagement.disenter error -119930868.)". Help me please


MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 11.7

the naming convention is relative not absolute...


Verify you are seeing the parent drive (top most)


DiskUtility>View>Show all Devices

if the drive has failed new out of the box, return it or replace it.
