Why don't my Apple devices show up on my Finder anymore?

Macmini running v15.4.1 iPhone running iOS 18.4.1. iPad running iPadOS 18.4.1. Everybody is on same network. All of a sudden idevices don't appear under Finder | Locations. Preferences shows them checked. If I connect via a cable they connect and sync. When I pull the cable they disappear from Locations.

How do I restore the WiFi connectivity to the Mac?

I turned on "Show this iPhone..." on my Mac (I never wanted to use this feature before) and it keeps showing in Finder when not connected with the USB cable. (At first I ejected the iPhone from Finder after turning on the setting and the iPhone would not come back in Locations, which might make sense. I reconnected using the USB cable then disconnected the USB cable and the iPhone stayed in Locations.)

My iPhone uses iOS 18.4.1 and my iMac 2019 (Intel) uses macOS Sequoia 15.4.1 (and is connected through both Ethernet and Wi-Fi).

I'm not sure what the issue could be but I would focus on the Mac (since both your iPhone and iPad have the issue). First, reboot your Wi-Fi router and your Mac. Then try to forget your Wi-Fi network on the Mac and connect to your Wi-Fi network again.

Interestingly this morning the iPhone showed under locations. When I clicked the phone, instead of the right panel getting populated the gear spinner started and eventually it reported that the selected device could not be located. Same thing happened just now with iPad. Given the other niggling problem that has cropped up after the macOS update a couple days ago (scanner gone, tried reinstalling the driver, no luck, and Canon doesn't yet have a fix) I am going to blame Apple.
