Why is Stolen Device Protection not working on my iPhone 14 Pro Max?

I have had “Stolen Device Protection” turned on. In my settings it shows it is turned on, however, I just noticed that on my husband’s iPhone, we both have iPhone 14 Pro Max, that on certain Apple Apps/Settings if Face ID doesn’t recognize his face, it will not ask for his phone’s password. I understand that this is for his security however, I have used Stolen Device Protection ever since it came out and I have never had that happen for the same Apple apps/settings and so if Face ID doesn’t recognize my face, it asks for and allows me to put my phone’s password in. So, does that mean “Stolen Device Protection” really is NOT working on my phone?

I have had many other security issues as well. Another one is that I recently sent my husband a notification for him to be my “Legacy Contact”and I printed it out and when I did, instead of saying my name where it should have, it said Null! When I went to print it again it showed my name.

And for some reason under “App Privacy Report” I started seeing the “Home” app which I do not use and have deleted from my phone long ago as well as “ShortcutsActions” which is another app I never used and deleted off of my phone!

In settings under my name and then Find My, it started showing my 3 other family members as both “Family” and then shows them again under “friends”. I only share my location with my 3 family members. And for some reason Find My shows I am not sharing my location (I never stopped sharing it) with my son although he still sees my location. And I have tried to toggle it on again in settings as well as in his contact and it will not show that I am sharing my location with him.

I have seen many times with FaceID where I hold my phone away from my face and it still acts like it checks my face and gives it a check mark and still opens various apps! I have Require Attention to FaceID turned on. Always have.

Can anyone please help!?

I have a lot of issues and this is a few of them! There’s more! I am very careful, I do not give out my Apple ID password or anything like that. My family says I’m “extra” when it comes to being careful with security on my devices.

I have done many hard resets and am at a loss as to what I should do short of a factory reset. Which will be my absolute last resort.

Are you sure you actually deleted the Home app, and didn’t just delete it from your Home screen? Go to the App Library (the last page of your Home screen), tap on the Search field and see if it is actually still on your device. Do the same for the Shortcuts.

If SDP is enabled some functions will still allow you to enter a passcode in lieu of Face ID; the only things blocked would be changing the passcode or the Apple ID.
