dictation microphone has disappeared from keyboard on ipad

My iPad upgraded to 18.3 and now the dictation microphone is missing from the keyboard. I have checked settings and it is enabled in the keyboard setting. It is an 11” i pad Air (M2). I have turned it on and off. It also is not as responsive as it once was, particularly with the shift key.

I’m responding to myself because I just figured it out. I noticed that on my keyboard, in the lower left there was an emoji button next to the button with the globe symbol. This made no sense to me since the globe button has always been the emoji button. When I clicked the globe button i got this:

As soon as I selected the English keyboard the dictation microphone returned. It was Grammarly causing the problem.

Maybe this will help someone else.
