How to reset a 2014 MacBook Air to factory settings?

Hi all, I have a MacBook Air I believe 2014 but I haven’t used this in a few years.

are you able to help me reset this back to the factory settings. I am new to this as I haven’t used it since I left college

You MBA likely does not have the "Erase All Content and Settings" feature in the OS, so skip that and start the process at "If you can’t use Erase All Content and Settings".


The end result will be a Mac has been wipe of all previous user data and boots to the Setup Assistant and prompts you to set up the computer as if it were brand new out of the box.
