Can I use Magic Keyboard and Mouse on iPad and iMac at the same time?

Hello all : so I got my Tablet I pad 10 Gen a few days ago the Mouse and Key board never communicated all the sudden today I moved mosue and say on I mac move and the mouse move on tablet I thought this was weird. Anyhow is it true U can use on both at same time or do I need to disconnect then plug in to I mac for ten sec then un plug. This is irritating thanks

The Magic Trackpad can pair with only one device at a time. If you wish to switch devices, you must manually complete the pairing process with the device with which you intend to use the Trackpad:
