Why can't I use a capital letter in my Apple ID on App Store?

I have a capital letter in the first letter and the middle of my ID and apple apps will not allow me to put a capital letter in the middle. It only had lower case and numbers. What am I doing wrong? Is it asking for my device password and not my Apple ID?

There are two fields that must be entered. One is what is generally referred to as your > Username < and the other is your > Passcode <.

Username is not case sensitive. Passcodes are case sensitive. The Username will be an email address. The Passcode is an alphanumeric code that includes special characters.

Apple Account is the name Apple adopted last fall when changes were made to Apple ID accounts. The name Apple ID is no longer used. Apple Account may also be referred to as iCloud account.

Confusing? Yes! However, my explanation hopefully makes terminology clearer and easier to understand.
