It’s not intended as a unit for sale. Buying it from an unauthorized reseller explains it. Return to them and ask for a refund. Then purchase a new iPhone from Apple or an Apple Authorized Reseller, where you know you are getting a new, intended for sale product.

No. You bought a used / gray market device that was a replacement for a device that was damaged or defective.

There is no warranty from Apple. It's likely that Apple won't service it at all, even for paid out of warranty service.

If you're unhappy about that, return it to whoever you got it from. If you can't get your money back, consider this a valuable life lesson in buying expensive electronics from shady sellers.

No, Apple is not warranting the device. If there is a warranty, it’s through the place of purchase and not Apple. Apple may service it, but a fee will be charged if they do a repair.

The device was not new and was not refurbished by Apple or an Apple authorized refurbisher. Non Apple parts may have been used by the refurbisher.

There is no Apple warranty on an iPhone purchased from an unauthorized seller.

That shop is free to offer their own warranty, but since this shop as already told you "no come back", that seems to indicate that you bought a phone without any warranty at all. You will be on the hook for the full cost of repair should it need any service. Assuming that it is eligible for service, and that it's not a phone that an unauthorized shop worked on, in which case Apple and Apple Authorized Service Providers might refuse to offer repair service for it even with you paying the full bill.

I'm sorry, but it sounds like the decision to purchase from this unauthorized seller, who apparently doesn't stand behind their products, wasn't a very good one.

We have no way of reassuring you that the phone is OK.

Or even that the phone has only been worked on by Apple and Apple Authorized Repair Facilities. It may well have been a phone that was broken in some way, and worked upon by an unauthorized repair shop, in which case all bets are off.

You told us that the seller said "no come back". That should be a strong clue that there is something wrong here. Ask yourself why a reputable seller would tell you "no come back" (under any circumstances) about an expensive electronics item like a smartphone for which there is some possibility that the device might need repair.

I cannot think of any reassuring reasons.

The iPhone you purchased is a replacement device, which is usually given in exchange of a defective or damaged original unit. I suggest you return it from wherever you purchased it for an exchange.

While it is a genuine iPhone, it could have been refurbished. It’s hard to say what happened to the iPhone, as it’s not intended for sale as a new product. If you thought you were getting a new, for sale product you didn’t. Apple no longer sells the iPhone 15 Pro Max. You can frequently check Apple’s Refurbished Site where it may come up for sale. These are certified refurbrished.

If you open the Settings App > General > About > Model - you will likely see the model number begins with a number, not a letter. If it does begin with a number, the phone is refurbished and it will have no warranty from Apple. We can't give you any indication on how long the phone will work, but if something goes wrong, if whoever you bought the phone from isn't offering a warranty, any repairs will have to be paid by you. And that's IF you can find anyone willing to service the phone as Apple likely won't touch it.

We have assume you got a great deal on this phone? Often, deals that appear too good to be true ARE usually too good to be true.

No one can say for sure. While it may work now, if it ever fails you might not be able to get service done on it. The same goes for Warranty/Apple Care+. Whether you want to take that risk is up to you.
