Why do I have a black dot between the camera and cellular strength icon on my iPhone?

The dot area looks like the new privacy indicators with Dynamic Island in iOS 18.4. But it should show a green or orange dot, depending on if the camera or microphone is being used. This seems like a software bug and I would suggest you try the Forced Restart Katana-San suggested.

I've personally never seen that on my iPhone. Try this:

From the bottom of your screen swipe up slowly and hold in the middle of the screen to bring up the app switcher. Swipe up any apps one by one to see if the black circle goes away, which would indicate it's tied to the app which when closed removes the circle.
