Sequoia 15.4.1 Identityservicesd file causing overheating after update
I have a 2019 13" MBP. It's had serious overheating issues (temps to 127 degrees measured on the back panel) since I got it. I also had this issue with my previous MBP that warped after two years due to severe overheating. I just installed the newest iOS update, Sequoia 15.4.1, and noticed immediately that the fan was working overtime and the bottom of the MBP was scary hot. I opened Activity Monitor and saw that Identityservicesd was consuming over 100% (? weird, not sure how anything uses more than 100% of anything), of my CPU energy. I'm no techie, but I tried to force quit the application several times and it simply popped back up. My temp gun registered 122 degrees on the bottom of my MBP last night and the fan was struggling. In somewhat of a panic and afraid the unit would damage my desk due to the high heat I shut it down completely. When I turned it back on this morning that file was at the top of my CPU usage again and my MBP immediately began to overheat again and the fan went berserk. I have had overheating issues in the past and took it in to the Apple Store on a couple of occasions for diagnostic testing. I was told everything was fine, but that the Intel chip in my previous two MBPs was prone to overheating and that I should buy a new MBP with Apple's new processor chip. In case Apple isn't aware their "laptops" are 3x the cost of others on the market and I can't afford to keep replacing them due to crappy hardware issues. If the Intel chip is faulty or dysfunctional on their older models (prior to their new M chip) then offer a generous trade-in credit program to customers who own these lesser quality Apple products to genuinely offset the exorbitant cost of replacement every 3-5 years. This is ridiculous! Is there a way to stop this identityservicesd issue?
