So, I am lost..
I need to move many photos from my IPhone.
I would like the photos to keep their data for the date when they where taken.
Can someone help me with a short description on how to do that?
I have a MacBook and also a pendrive for the phone..

If you have a Mac, then very best way is to use iCloud. That's the only way to ensure that all of the information is transferred.
Otherwise, your best bet is to see this:
Transfer photos and videos from your iPhone or iPad to your Mac or PC - Apple Support
This should get dates and other usual metadata.

What dates are you looking? Usually the important internal metadata dates are preserved while the not so important but more visible and file dates are changed when moving files.

Yes, but what date (file date or internal metadata date?) and where (Finder or Photos etc?) are you looking it? A screenshot would explain it best.
Thank you for asking me this question. I get so confused. But now I got it. I guess I have to make a decision? When I go through the photos on the phone I can easily see when the where taken (and where). This gets lost in a folder in Finder I presume. I would like to place the photos on an external HD. So maybe finder, yes. Thank you for helping me.
Internal image metadata date 'DateTimeOriginal' can be checked outside Photos.app in Finder > View > Show Preview > Show More > 'Content Created' date in the right side panel.
Or in Preview.app > Tools > Show Inspector > i > Exif > 'Date Time Original' field.

I have a full old iPhone, a full old Mac.. I managed to borrow a Mac and transfer the photos to there in fotos and then to external disk. Anyway it worked and I am happy to have some giga on my phone again :-)
The year and date is the thing that I Care about. The chronology. Otherwise they get all mixed up and I loose the story they tell.
What results did you get from following the links that I sent?
