Network Issues while Updating a Mac:
A. Turn Off ALL VPNs:
Are you connected to a VPN? If so, turn it off, and try this once more.
B. Restart your Router:
C. Update in Safe Mode:
Boot your Silicon Mac in Safe Mode. Then, perform the update. In Safe Mode, Login Items do not run at login, certain preferences are set aside, and damaged system files are then reset. So, once booted in to Safe Mode, wait 30 seconds, and then boot up normally, attempting another update install.
D. Try a New Admin User:
For troubleshooting purposes, what happens when you create a new Administrator user, and log into it attempting an update? Do you still get this error? If not, then it is likely an error with the current user. If so, then it is likely an error with your Mac or the WiFi.
E. Use a Private LAN:
If you ar using a Public LAN here, then you might be taking up too many resources, or there may be too much network traffic for this to go through.
