Error "Failed to personalize the software update" unable to update my macOS on MacBook Air M1

I am using macOS 14.5, been unable to update for months now. It's an M1 MacBook Air (2020)

I keep getting the error and it was fine. I purchased this Mac on macOS 14.1.1, updated to 14.4.1, then 14.5, and an no longer able to get updates. I want it fixed so I can install macOS 15.0. I am kind of angry. I purchased this Mac in brand new condition, not a scratch or dent for $350. It is not storage because I have 188GB free. I've tried multiple WiFi networks too, same issue. Nothing seems to fix it.

I don't know if there's anything in here that might help. It sounds like "reviving" a Mac (which doesn't erase it) or "restoring" a Mac (which does) requires the aid of another Mac that is either

  • Running Sonoma, or
  • Running Monterey 12.4 or later, and Apple Configurator

If you live close to a retail Apple Store, you might want to see if they could evaluate the situation, and help you with this (if necessary).

There is nothing to fix. macOS 15 (Sequoia) is not out yet. The latest version of macOS is 14.6.1 (Sonoma).

The M1 MacBook Air will be able to update to Sequoia when Sequoia comes out. Unless you want to be a "guinea pig" for the beta (not advised), you will need to wait for Sequoia, just like everyone else.
