What camera settings improve OCR photo quality?

You might give the demo version of VueScan  a try with Input set to File:

and Output set to OCR:

Are you hand holding the camera as you take pnotos of the pages? If so you might try getting a stand so that there's no shake of the camera during the photo taking.

Just some food for thought.

It left off an "a" and a "3," and a couple of extra lines were included that I deleted. I think the camera settings are just fine.

How was this selected-- you it or by you? I usually get what I want like I would with any text: click & drag across the text. This seems to work even when "select all" doesn't get it.
