Messages account blocked for alleged spam

Apple needs to fix their policy on alleged spam and blocking accounts. I have never spammed anyone. I text my family and close friends only, and last week I got my account blocked. I only found out because I was having issues sending and receiving messages so I contacted Apple. They’re then like, you’re account is locked for sending spam. We’ll unblock your account this once, but next time, it’s permanent.

I’m confused as they’re stating it as if it’s a fact that I’m spamming people. I have no clue what this supposed message was or when it was even sent. They won’t give me any information. They’re like, don’t do it again or it’s permanent. I said, don’t do what? I don’t see anything in my text history that’s even questionable. Doing searches, I’ve seen a decent number of people in a similar situation and many that were banned. For now, I’ve turned off iMessage.

On your iPhone, go to Settings > [name on top], and scroll to the bottom to see the list of devices that are logged into your account. They can be removed from there. It there are any devices that you remove from there, then follow up by changing your Password, so they cannot sign in again.

That won't work here on this site made up of users just like you. Is it possible you are sharing your Apple Account with someone else? Messages can be marked as spam by anyone you send them to and it may even be a possibility that instead of Deleting the message, they are marking them as Junk and Deleting. Of course Apple will not tell you who is marking your messages as Junk as that would be a privacy concern for another user.

They won’t provide any information on what/when I could have sent some offending message, if there is one at all. I send maybe 5 messages a day. These are to my wife, kids, and parents. To my knowledge, there’s not a way for them to mark a message as spam when we communicate on a consistent basis. I haven’t sent a message to a new person in I don’t know how long. Apple told me, if I don’t some mystery action again, I’ll be permanently banned.

Apple needs to be aware that this policy impacts people. If I am doing something they don’t like, tell me what it is so I can curb the behavior.

Apple NEVER blocks text accounts; at most they will put suspicious messages in the unknown user folder.

It is the RECIPIENT’s provider that is blocking you. And that can be because a recipient of your text marked your message as spam, or that you sent the identical message to a number of people.

I believe the poster is saying that their own account has been blocked and they are unable to send messages. There are a fair number of threads about this issue. And people generally report that Apple will not give the information on why.
