Apple TV 4k - Wired Ethernet connection has suddenly died.

For years my Apple TV has worked via a cable. This week it has stopped being able to log in to any of the apps.

If I unplug the cable & use Wifi it works fine.

Plug the cable in, no good.

Latest software is installed - tvOS 18.4.1

Apple TV 4K, tvOS 18

Number 1 troubleshooting advice for any electronic device:

Unplug the Apple TV 4K from power, wait three minutes, plug it back in, test.

If that doesn’t fix it then you may have a hardware failure on your hands. First try using a different ethernet cable. Try using a different ethernet port on your router. If all else fails the Apple TV’s ethernet port may indeed be dead. Your choices are to use WiFi going forward or buy a new Apple TV. It would not be cost effective to have it repaired.
