How can I resolve a keyboard screen burn-in on iPhone?

Hi there, I have the keyboard burnt into the screen of my iPhone 13 Pro. I’ve powered off and restarted but it doesn’t go away. Is there any way to fix or is this just damaged now?

Great question! Unfortunately, it is damaged now unless you're willing to keep it that way.

A screen "Burn In" happens when your device gets too hot, or is sat in direct sunlight while the screen is on. It can also happen if you leave your iPhone on one screen for an extended amount of time. Another example would be, if you had a TV and left it on its Home Screen for multiple days, it would do the same thing.

Only way to fix it would be to have it sent to Apple to have it fixed, if you paid for the AppleCare, it shouldn't be very much since you're already covered.

If not, it would be full price for the job which wouldn't be worth it more than likely, unless it bothers you that much and you plan to keep it for another year to 2 Years.

Best Of Luck!

Yes, it would be considered screen damage. It would have to be replaced before Apple could sell it as a "refurbished" Unit.

I personally have never sold a phone back to apple even under trade in, I usually keep them as a backup or give it to family. If I remember correctly on their quotes, it will ask you if there's screen damage, in this case you would press "Yes". Afterwards I believe it will ask you a series of questions like "Is there any cracks, scratches etc." And you'd answer that appropriately.

I don't see why it would be any more than $100 Knocked off of condition price trade in, taking in that they don't have any trade in deals going on either at the time you try.

Good luck!

Thanks for your reply! If I wanted to trade in my old phone what kind of impact would this have on the trade in value? Would this be categorised under screen damage? Thanks

Yes, the would be screen damage. I recommend that, if possible, you trade your iPhone in at an Apple Store. They will give you the best possible advice on how to handle it.
