Face ID cannot be disabled on specific apps
I have an iPhone 11 running iOS 18.3.2.
When I open my Photos app, it says "Face ID required to open Photos" - I wanted to disable this but I can’t anymore.
In the “Face ID & Passcode” section, the “Photos” app does not even appear as an option anywhere (not even in “other apps”), so I can’t disable this security. The only other related option is “Use Face ID” for hidden and deleted albums - this is already off. I appear to have a Face ID lock on actually opening the app. I do not have any third party apps, automations or shortcuts causing this.
I believe I set this up prior to iOS 18, when it was possible to Use Face ID for photos, but according to my settings menus it does not seem possible to reach this option anymore, so I am stuck with a Face ID lock on the photos app - any ideas?
