Why is my MacBook Air M1 running slow despite plenty of free storage?

I bought this M1 in 2021 and used only 143gb out of 494gb, still after these years and Mac OS updates, its operating lil slow, can someone suggest me how to speed up

not using any kind of software which is not in apple play store

Preview lags quite a lot even if I open 25mb pdf, it takes time to respond sometimes hangs up

all softwares are updated till now

Try to clear the cached in files in web browsers and restart the device.

Still the system is slow then clear the cached files under user library folder.

If none works then you need to restore the device and check.

Restoring the device will erase all the data in the disk ,so ensure you take a data back up before proceeding.
