How do I check if my iPhone 16 is brand new or refurbished?

What is the Model Number of your phone? Settings > General > About > Model Number

If the model number starts with an "M", the iPhone is NOT refurbished.

However, we have no way of knowing whether another user might have purchased the phone, returned it, and the store repackaged the phone. You would have to ask the store about that possibility.

An authorized dealer would normally tell you upfront whether this might have happened.

Did you buy the phone from an authorized Apple dealer?

Their name will appear in the list of authorized dealers in your area if you did.

If you bought the phone from an Authorized Dealer, why are you concerned if the phone is new or refurbished?

When you open Settings > General > About > Below the Serial Number is a box which should tell you the warranty expiration. If you bought the phone from an Authorized Dealer, the warranty should expire one year from the date you purchased it.

Exactly what "authorized dealer" did you buy it from? In what country?

If you really purchased it from an "authorized" retailer, then it's real. If not, then at best, it's used/gray market.

This is not Apple Support. This is a user to user only forum, which no one from Apple participates. We don't anything about the phone you bought or who you bought it from? Whether it was purchased from Apple or an Apple Authorized Seller?
