To the OP: True Tone shouldn’t be overly yellow. If it is, I suspect there is something wrong and the device ought to be checked out at a Genius Bar or APPLe Authorized Service Provider (AASP) via the links proved earlier.

You may also be referring to Night Shift, which automatically shifts the colors of your iPhone to the warmer end of the spectrum at nighttime. Go to: Settings > Display & Brightness > Night Shift. Can you share a screenshot from there?

I've never liked what True Tone does to the screen of any iPhone I've ever owned. It does tend to make the tint more yellow and as TheLittles suggested, you can adjust the hue if you want. Instead, I simply don't use True Tone and you don't have to either. It is a user selectable choice. If you don't like, don't use it.

The True Tone hue can’t be adjusted can it? What TheLittles provided is for Color Filters not True Tone.

Since I don't use True Tone, I thought it was possible to adjust the hue before turning it on. If that won't work, then you'd be correct.

As to the comment that True Tone shouldn't be overly yellow, people see colors differently. To me, it is overly yellow. To you, it might not be. I prefer whites to be REALLY white. I know some people prefer the warmer True Tone look. I just don't happen to be one of them ;-)
