Unable to remove ear tip on AirPod 2 Pro

Looking at videos & written instruction, but try as aI might, I cannot remove the ear tip from my new AirPods Pro. I pull & pull, squeeze ,etc. I am afraid to rip the soft part if I pull at that, but if I don't pull at that, I find it hard to get a grip & when I can, still won't be removed.

I am getting a message that they don't fit properly, so I do need to change the tip.

Any hints?
