You should NOT be sharing your Apple Account with your kids. Apple has long maintained, that Apple Accounts should NOT be shared with anyone. Each of your kids needs their own Apple Account. Then you would use Family Sharing and Parental Controls to manage your kids devices.

That is exactly what happens when you share an Apple Account. First off, Apple for a while now has frowned upon sharing Apple Accounts. It causes many issues and they aren't meant to be shared.

There is no such thing as a "shared apple account".

Don't do that. Each person needs their own. You can create accounts for your children using this process:

Then use family sharing to share purchases, etc. with them.

Do NOT share an account.
