iPhone mirroring not working With M4 pro MacBook pro ( Sequoia 15.4.1) and iPhone 12 Pro (iOS 18.4.1)

I keep getting window "unlock iPhone" after enter my password on iPhone" nothing changes and the MacBook asks phone for passcode again. Have restarted both devices several times. There are no "focus" scenarios enabled. Both wifi and bluetooth are on and both devices are on same network. The MacBook sees the phone for hotspot purposes but does not list it in bluetooth devices. The iPhone does list the MacBook on the bluetooth list . Am at a loss.

it solved itself half a day later after all the manipulations that were suggested (they are standard on the Internet and here)
