How can I make cheap international calls to landlines.

I was using Skype credit but it is no longer possible since May 5th

Can I use my iPad to make phone calls? My answer. Use Skype! I use Skype all the time on my iPad to make calls to landlines and mobiles. Saved me numerous times in Australia when I had to make important calls (insurance companies, etc.). I also use it or Canada to Canada calls. The call doesn't have to be to an Apple user. I'm wondering if someone have a problem with this insight, or thinks it is not a good idea? Thank you.
