Why is my new MacBook Air not showing up on iPhone's AirDrop?

My brand new M4 2025 MacBook Air doesn't show up on my iPhone AirDrop app. I have tried every instruction in Apple Support and Community Discussions. Both devices are on the same network, Bluetooth is on on both devices, etc. Can anyone help me?Thnx

Both devices are on the same network, Bluetooth is turned on on both devices, the firewall is off on the computer, Personal Hotspot is turned off on the iPhone, the devices are inches apart, Do Not Disturb is off, etc. I will try restarting both devices again and report back.

On the MacBook check System Settings > AirDrop.

Make sure is not set to No One.

Change the AirDrop setting to "Everyone" to test if the proper contact is on the Mac to recognize the iPhone. The location is at Settings > General > Airdrop & Handoff, and is the picture provided by D.I. Johnson.

If it works, then you know you need to add the contact on your Mac for the user on the iPhone that is attempting the AirDrop.

Another troubleshooting test is to restart your router.

Thank you. I took the steps you advised but the computer is still not showing up in airdrop on my iPhone or iPad. I can airdrop from the computer to other devices but cannot airdrop onto the computer.

Both devices were restarted but the Air doesn't show up on my iPhone to airdrop a Pages doc. Please advise.

Thank you. I tried using the contacts and everyone settings but it's not working. I can airdrop from the computer to other devices but not the other way around.
